Economic Development Programme (EDP):

Aimed at enhancing the socio-economic status of target groups by way of giving grants either in kind to the selected beneficiaries. Selection of beneficiaries is effected by a Beneficiary Selection Committee constituted by the Government. Fishery; Vegetable Farming; Irrigation Pump Set; Piggery; Tailoring, Embroidery; Carpentry; etc. are implemented under EDP. Work Advisory Board (WAB) of the Department approves the work programme annually.

Skill Development Programme (SDP):

Aimed at enhancing the skill of the target groups by giving training in income generating schemes/trades. Skill trainings are given for Bamboo Craft; Mobile repairing; Paramedical; Embroidery; Tailoring; Hospitality; Banary/Pineapple Fibre; DTP; etc. WAB approves the work programme.

Health/ Chief Minister’s Laiyeng Shen:

A re-christened programme “Chief Minister’s Laiyeng Shen” is being introduced in 2017-18 for widows only. Fund of Rs. 220.00 lakhs is allotted under this programme and an amount of Rs. 15,000/- will be given to each selected beneficiary. Only Rs. 100.00 lakh under OBC category was encashed.

Coaching Programme/ CM’s Lairik Heiminnashi:

Remedial coaching to Minority/OBC/SC students for English, Mathematics and Science subjects was taken up since 2013-2014. It has been re-christened as “CM’s Lairik Heiminnashi” from 2019-20 onwards and it shall be implemented only in Government Schools. n
